Sounds like you started out much as the Society’s Christmas trip on 29 Dec. We likewise started at the airport and reached the East Didsbury terminus via a change at St.Werburgh’s Road. We then headed into the city centre but instead of staying on to Bury alighted at Victoria to catch a tram to Rochdale via Oldham instead. Not sure if unveiling the Roch has led to a reduction in flooding risk as we arrived in Rochdale Town Centre to see sandbags still present outside one or two premises. We were told the great Lancashire / Yorkshire flood of Christmas 2015 had seen waters reaching almost to platform height at the terminus 2 or 3 days earlier and the service was suspended. Great selection of pictures – you certainly chose a day with great light.
