Back of Bull Farm

We walked this way several weeks ago, when Bullhill Brook was flooded and we couldn’t get to the footbridge. Instead, we followed a most pleasant path through the fields behind Bull Farm. Today we’re following the same route – except that we’re not visiting the ford first… Yesterday was rainy, all day (hence the avoidance of the ford), and tomorrow’s forecast is similar – but today it’s warm, bright and sunny. No jackets or jumpers needed – and we heard our first cuckoo of the year. Despite the rain, truly it’s spring

Mose and Comer

There could be a shower this afternoon (there was!) – might be good to be in the woods, for a bit of shelter (it was!). The sun shone as we walked up through Mose (feeling really warm, for the first time this year), but the clouds were gathering when we paused at the chocolate spot (a log beside the pool). Not far back to the start – we only got slightly damp…

Colourful Kaffe

“Internationally renowned fine artist and textile designer, Kaffe Fassett, is bringing his colourful exhibition to Mid Wales in 2023.” Yes, to Powis Castle, near Welshpool. One of us said she’d like to take a look…
The works are on display here and there throughout the castle, but photography is not generally permitted anywhere inside (it appears that although the National Trust owns the building, the contents still belong to the family). However, in a little room where several quilts are hung, “you can take photos in this room only if you wish”. Thanks – I will…
