The car said it was -3°C, when I left it below the Gaer Stone. Unlike yesterday’s calm, there was a strong northerly wind. I don’t know what the effective temperature was with the wind chill factor, and I was well wrapped, but I can’t remember it feeling so cold anywhere for a long time…

Freezing – no fog…
Today’s forecast was for freezing fog, lasting most of the day. There were one or two wisps around, briefly – but for most of the day the sun shone from a clear blue sky. Very cold though – the met office says it was -9°C at 9.00am, and it rose by 1° each hour to 3.00pm. I don’t think it’s still rising though…
Skye
A trip to Skye – via the refurbished museum at Summerlee and Cromarty. The weather on the island was not at its best, with gales, some heavy rain and general dampness, but also one or two brighter spells.
