Bluebell wood

They were just beginning to come into bloom last time we walked this way, just a fortnight ago – we thought a check was in order. They’re not at their best yet, but coming along nicely. The sunshine was warm enough to persuade an orange tip butterfly to pose for us – but only for one photo…

Wandering

It’s bright and sunny, and though the wind’s cold, it’s far too good to stay in. We’ll wander – see where we get to – perhaps check how the bluebell wood is developing? Spring is really moving along now, with the blackthorn blossom taking centre stage.

…the bluebells, that is. We’re wandering on a sunny afternoon, with the bluebell wood as an objective – probably this year’s last visit.

Bluebells on the Edge

They’re everywhere now – must check out the local bluebell wood. Today we’re on Wenlock Edge, walking a circular route from Aston Munslow. There’s quite a variety of other blooms beside the paths and tracks – a riot of colour (I may be exaggerating). But for sheer quantity, the bluebells win, hands down.
