It can’t be more than a dozen miles from Jodrell Bank to Little Moreton Hall – but the contrast couldn’t be much greater. The weather, despite the forecast, provided us with some bright sunshine and blue sky. Follow the thumbnail for more photos

Berrington Peacock
Easter Sunday – a cold wind, sleety showers, the sun doing its best to stay behind the clouds… Not a great day for an outing to Berrington Hall, just inside Herefordshire, between Ludlow and Leominster. Nevertheless, there were one or two opportunities for the cameras – follow the thumbnail to Flickr for more.
Steamy old slides
I’ve been scanning some old slides, taken 20 – 30 years ago, when I spent perhaps more time than I should have, going out snapping steam specials on the main lines (haven’t bothered so much in recent years – too many people – and trees – and inevitably photos identical to those of many others…)

Stourport Basin
Another fine sunny day! There would be plenty of photo opportunities around the canal basin at Stourport, wouldn’t there….? Yes, there would – if it wasn’t for all the building work going on. Looks like a new waterside housing development – the waterside in question being a re-excavated former canal basin. Away from the building site, there were some nice reflections in the water – where the ice had melted, that is…

White frames

Sunday 10th February – an altogether different proposition, after Friday’s gloom. Follow the thumbnail through to Flickr for one or two more photos from a sunny day in mid-Wales
Kerry Hill wandering
Friday 8th Feb: The weather in Shropshire was sunny – Kerry Hill wasn’t, though the sun tried (and failed) to break through from time to time. Visit “Kerry Hill” on “Walks with a Camera” for a full account of our explorations in the Welsh border country
