Lunch at, and a quick wander round Moseley Old Hall near Wolverhampton. King Charles II famously hid in an oak tree at Boscobel – and having avoided discovery there, found his way to Moseley, where he was able to hide in a priest hole. It’s an interesting place in which to spend an hour or so (the Cornish pasties were good too…)
Love, love, LOVE. It;s embarrassing to admit how many years I have longed to visit here and even gone past it on the road to other parts. Your photos of the interior are the most atmospheric and evocative I have seen of the interior. Will always be a most favourite story in English history. Hard to find a more truly nail biting and romantic story than Charles hairsbreadth escape. Thank you for sharing your exquisite photos. I hold a real fondness for Charlie the Second.
