Those escarpments must be a fair way from the Long Mynd Geoff, probably 40 miles plus ? I assume the town of Hay-on-Wye will be near these, probably beneath the second (right hand) one if that’s the Wye Valley?
About 40 miles is right, I think. Hay Bluff is the left summit; the one beyond is possibly Rhos Dirion, the highest point along the north-western edge of the Black Mountains. Couldn’t see the Brecon Beacons though – it wasn’t quite clear enough.
Thank you for the information Geoff. Hadn’t appreciated that the right hand escarpment is further away and the top could be higher than Hay Bluff. Good picture. Re your crossword I’ve managed to get ‘Iford Manor’ etc but the ‘Bubble?’ one is still defeating me !
